Man has his computer stolen while staying at a friend’s house for the night. The apartment is broken into and his laptop is on the list of items stolen. The computer contains approximately 6 months of data and files that the owner has been working on. The gentleman is using his phone to create the video in hopes that the person that sees it will view the video on You Tube and return the data back to him.

The professor seems unconcerned about the laptop itself but is rather concerned about retrieving the data contained on the computer. The professor proceeds to describe the consequences of stealing the computer by explaining that the student will now be facing federal charges and completing a sentence in a federal prison. The professor offers the student one option that may lessen the severity of his charge.

A volunteer at a McCain campaign office talks to KMBC news about a break in. The front window of the office was broken using a large rock. A computer was stolen and a brief case was rifled through and dumped. At the office volunteers made calls asking questionnaires relevant to the campaign. It is likely that peoples’ personal home information, such as phone numbers, were contained on the laptop, as well as answers to the questions that they were asked.  Security at all McCain campaign stations was greatly increased after this instance.
